First off, I want to thank Flight Risk and Merlin for our days hiking together. Y’all definitely sped me up. Thanks also to Flight Risk for being kind enough to slow down for a day to hike with me into Buena Vista and for a meaningful conversation. It’s really nice to have someone to talk with and not to arrive to shelters alone. So long, boys, enjoy your time off trail:
I’m racing the cold weather at this point, so much so that I didn’t even take a zero to avoid the rain today. So, I only have time to post some music and pics for you.
First, the music. Here is a Spotify playlist I’ve compiled for y’all, allowing you to take your progressive bluegrass appreciation to the next level.
Also, Terri wins the podcast follower of the week for texting me about how meaningful she has found the music of the Arcadian Wild to be.
Finally, here is the topical song for this post, it’s a sound track for the following eaflay ornpay — that is, the pics of the beginnings of autumn glory in the Blue Ridge Mountains:
Here I am “bouncing over the white clouds”
Thanks also to Restart for slackpacking with me today. Unfortunately, he is quite a bit slower than I am, so we are taking different paths tomorrow.
The Blue Ridge Mountains are even beautiful in the rain:
Do you have a favorite pic? If so, note it below.
The view of crossing the bridge is my favorite. Definitely wall worthy
Thanks for posting all the beautiful vistas and the beautiful autumn leaves. God's creations are magnificent. The picture I liked best was the one where you are looking through 2 craigy rocks and the view just goes on and on.
Stay safe and best wishes that you finish before it gets really cold.
Mary and Mike.
